Social Studies at Galileo

We just had our "2nd period math class" awhile ago. The bell rang and it's 3rd period now. Time to go down the hall to Miss Korman's social studies class.

We had a lot of open paticipation in that class, which entailed how society operates----human behavior in America, if you will.

I wish I knew where Miss Korman was today (probably married and a grandmother by now). She made an awful lot of sense to a 17-year old, and I think if she was on this blogsite today, she would say the same thing that I'm about to:

The economy grows and prospers when folks INVEST in it.

When people have MONEY in their pockets, they tend to SPEND more freely. (they BUY STUFF!)

When they have JOBS, they have a STEADY FLOW of cash in which to KEEP DOING that.

More working people = more taxpayers.

More taxpayers out there = more REVENUE.

The less taxes and regulations on EMPLOYERS, the more likely THEY are to hire, and the LESS likely to move.

"TAXING THE RICH"----is BITING THE HAND THAT IS TRYING TO FEED YOU. It is STUPID and self-destructive. (Wanna go after the "rich? "Maybe you should start with communist George Soros).

If Miss Korman was sitting here today at our table having a cup, and I asked her about Foreign Aid, money for illegals, etc.......I think she'd still put it in terms that even a 17-year old would understand..............

..........."Tax money is for OUR use, Mike. It is an "allowance" we give Washington to run OUR country with. If YOU get an allowance at home, and you give it away to all the other kids in your neighborhood, you won't have enough left for your OWN needs, will you?

Our Constitution was a big part of her class as well, so I KNOW what our tax dollars are SUPPOSED to be used for..........and I know where it's found, in that old parchment that the "left" doesn't believe in today. (if the truth was known, they probably never HAVE).

I don't know what they teach in the schools in Indonesia, or at Harvard.......too bad he didn't go to Galileo, and had been sitting in our 3rd period social studies class, he wouldn't be in the trouble he's in today.

It wasn't and ISN'T that difficult. It really wasn't. Even at 17.

YOU CAN'T BLOW WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE. YOU CANNOT SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF DEBT! (even with OTHER PEOPLE'S money!!)

Even I knew that!.......and I was just a "maggot", according to my Drill Instructor! Just a poor lousy buck private making $88.00 a month, and even I knew THAT!

But.........to steal a phrase from the late Jimmy Durante..........."Good night Miss Korman.......where-EVER ya are!"
