"Oranges" part II
A few months before I packed up to leave Arizona to "come home", I took in one of the big Crossroads Gunshows in Phoenix. To this day, I've never seen a gunshow anywhere in the northwest that even comes CLOSE to the magnitude of the Crossroads. Basically, if you want it and can't find it...........you'll find it THERE, so I wanted one last GOOD "shopping spree", before I was relegated once more to the "little" Fort Boise shows at the Fairgrounds.
For the benefit of you NON-gunners out there who have never been to a gunshow, I'll share a little bit with you.
As you may correctly assume, "right-wing" is spoken FLUENTLY within those walls, although "carefully", as the Feds are known to send "spies" into our midst, to try to pick up any loose cross-talk about militia activity, revolts, etc.
We're ON to that, though.
Anyway, I was browsing over one of the hundreds of tables, and overheard two guys talking about "Big Brother." (nothing unusal at a gunshow). But one was telling the other about his cancer-stricken sister who'd been considered "terminal" but the doctors were giving her the old "chemo" & radiation treatments," which destroys the good cells right along with the bad ones. THEN he said she started taking this stuff called Hydrazine Sulphate (which the FDA will NOT approve). She started getting better, and she was still going strong LONG past her "predicted time." They talked about how healthcare was just another "bureaucratic conspiracy to wring more money out of sick people, and pro-longing it").
I turned to this guy and excused myself for "eaves-dropping", but I couldn't help but overhear their conversation. He told me that all he knew about it was that it was in pill-form, and one of the ingredients was once used to make ROCKET FUEL!
Well..........you hear all kinds of "fly-by-night" stuff out there these days, and the internet (along with the junkmail in your mailbox) is FULL of these "miracle cures." But when I got back to the apartment, I went over next door and borrowed my neighbor's laptop and looked up "Hydrazine Sulphate." There was a LOT of info, including the NCI's (National Cancer Institute), efforts to discredit it.
My natural distrust of "Big Brother" was enough to prompt me to check into this a bit further. But it was "strangely" my ONCOLOGIST in Mesa who pushed me "over that line."
I had an appointment to see him that following week, and as we got started, I asked him point blank, what he knew about "Hydrazine Sulphate."-------------his eyes lit up like I said something about his mother that I supposed to know. He almost got nervous and replied......."Oh......well.......I've read about it", then proceeded with my exam and charts.
I interrupted him once more........."Doc, what's the deal on this Hydrazine Sulphate stuff?" And again, the little "tap-dance" around the question........"Well....uh......hmm.....I've--I've just read about it."
He CLEARLY did NOT want to discuss it That threw a flag up IMMEDIATELY! This guy drove a new Mercedes Benz, and just down the hall in his office, he ALSO ran a CHEMO-CLINIC at about $1200.00 per treatment on SOMEBODY'S insurance.
Now I'd heard the stories, as YOU have, over the years....about how there's a lot of money to be made by keeping people sick, so they have to keep coming back......and all the millions the hospitals get in government "research grants."
I got home from his office, looked up a supply source and ordered some. A bottle was about $60.00 apiece at that time------but you could spend more than THAT just walking into a doctor's office. I had sort of a "gut feeling" about this.
They tell you in the articles you read that it doesn't work for everybody, (it depends on the individual, the cancer type, and the severity of it sometimes)----------but it had been proven to work on MOST people. Developed in Germany by an American doctor who walked OUT of NCI back here, then used successfully in Scandinavia, the Soviet Union, Canada, etc.........you've heard it all at least once.
"MOST people" is good.........puts the odds in your favor........and heck.....THESE days you can't fill the gas tank in your CAR for $60.00! And I wasn't really taking any risk. If I tried it and it didn't help me, I'd only be out 60 bucks......and I was supposed to die anyway! So I ordered it. The fact that the GOVERNMENT didn't approve of it, only made it MORE "inviting" to me!
It got there just before I packed up to leave Apache Junction, but I elected NOT to start the 3-month regimen until after I got to Idaho. Once you start, you aren't supposed to break the "pill cycle" until it's exhausted, and not knowing if this stuff was gonna have any side-effects, I didn't want to be on some "strange medication" while driving a U-Haul van long distance with a car trailer behind it.
I would start the Hydrazine after I got settled-in to Mountain Home.
I got here. Moved in. Hooked-up with the Boise V.A. and they transferred my records up from Phoenix. They did a CT Scan and wanted me back in 6 months for another one. I started taking the Hydrazine. Around the end of the 3rd month, the second bottle was empty and the "annual treatment" was finished. Three months later, they scanned me. The swollen lymphnodes had decreased slightly!
My oncologist wanted me to take a "Rituxin" treament (a very mild form of Chemo, but not harmful to the good cells). I went along with it, and the next scan showed a little more "decrease". I would be monitored every six months. By this time, I'd ordered another batch of Hydrazine Sulphate for my ""second year" treatment, then the THIRD year. The scans were looking better with each 6-month visit, and by 2007, it was in REMISSION. Aside from the lone rituxin treatment early-on----the V.A. has not treated me at ALL.
I elected NOT to do the Hydrazine in 2009, because I didn't want to take a chance that my body might build up a resistance to it, and in the early summer of last year, my scan showed a slight INcrease on the lymphnodes. Doc wasn't alarmed though, but said we'd look at it again in just THREE months time, and give it another little "hit" of rituxin if need-be.
I immediately got on the phone, ordered some Hydrazine......started on it, then took that car trip back to Washington D.C. (still taking the Hydrazine), and when they scanned me in August, the swelling had gone back down. My most recent check-up this past January shows it still in remission.
I've talked with my current oncologist about it, and of course, not being FDA-approved, he couldn't recommend it to any of his other patients, but he too has read about it. I happen to be the only one of his many patients who is taking it, so I think he's watching me with a particular interest, just for his own enhancement.
He DOES approve of "alternative medicine" as well as the power of prayer----as do I. He knows that medical science doesn't have all the answers, and "if it WORKS, GO FOR IT!" He looks at things pretty objectively.
Of course, a V.A. doctor gets paid the same no matter how many or how few patients he sees.........he doesn't HAVE to make the "extra bucks" in the Chemo Chairs. So he isn't "swayed by his wallet.
I'm an individual thinker, and elected years ago to make my OWN calls over this. It's MY life, not the doctors'. And as all of you well know, I do NOT trust the government. They are NOT looking out for us-------I'm not shouting "CONSPIRACY" here, because I can't prove it..........but I DO know there's a LOT of money to be made on cancer patients, heart patients, diabetics, you NAME it. A single chemotherapy treatment costs considerably MORE than a two-bottle treament of Hydrazine Sulphate. And the Hydrazine has never made me sick, or my HAIR fall out!
All the "ambulance-chasers" are flooding your television with "WE'LL HELP YA SUE 'EM" ads, if you worked for a laundry service back in 1958 and you suffer ingrown toe-nails TODAY for it. EVERYBODY'S out there trying to make a buck on sick folks.
Now......don't RUN with what I've just written as some kind of "authoritive testimony." I had my back to the wall in Phoenix, and could either GIVE UP, or at least do SOMETHING. It ain't in the Marine Corps Guidebook to "give-up", but that conversation at the gunshow made a lot more sense than anything I'd heard in any doctor's office.
Fact is........I'm here TODAY and I'm not supposed to be. And it's STILL in remission. I've done better with the "alternative medicine" than I would have done with the "BIG MONEY BOYS" who seem to be in bed with the pharmacies, the FDA and the NCI.
That Hydrazine Sulphate doesn't work for everybody and they say so right up front. And it's more expensive now than it was when I first got it (close to a hundred now)........but for me anyway, it's worth a few bucks. If my health suddenly started to "go south" tomorrow......I've bought myself four more years that I WASN'T going to have, helping that quack in Mesa get himself another Mercedes!
My personal story doesn't prove there's some kind of medical conspiracy going on, just to keep people sick and HAVING TO COME BACK for MORE expensive treatments. Doesn't prove that at all. Maybe I've just been lucky. Maybe God's keeping me around just to annoy the liberals, I don't know!
But I know THIS..........the scans and the charts SICE, have blown the original diagnosis out of the water.
There's actually a part of me that doesn't even care. Those of you who know me personally, or have GOTTEN to know me through these blogs, know my background. I don't belong here anymore.
If I still had hair on the top, it would be "slicked-back" with Brylcreem! I'd have "pegged" pants, buckskin shoes and a pack of cigarettes rolled up in my shirtsleeve whether I smoked or not!
I came from an era where the "terrorists" were my "hooligan" buddies and I,...... where no hubcap in the neighborhood was safe!
A "drag queen" was that little fox at the Fremont Dragstrip who gave you a trophy and a kiss if you won your class that day.
We listened to Wolfman Jack on the radio. All we've got today is Limbaugh & Hannity.
I "Liked Ike."...............today I don't like ANY of 'em!
.......I don't even want to get into it here......it's too depressing. But I know that Hydrazine or not......someday I'm gonna walk into SOME doctor's office (as we all are), and he's gonna give me the "long face' and say "sorry, there's nothing more that can be done." At that point, I'll just smile, shake his hand warmly and walk out.
On the way out to the car, I'll see the smog haze over the city, pass the newspaper machine that shows some country blowing up some other country. Then I'll fight my way through a traffic-load of Toyotas, (where once cruised the old Impalas and Galaxies), then go home and get a two-dollar bottle of Coca-Cola out of the fridge that USED to be a dime...........sit out on the front porch and watch the sunset.
I really don't belong here anymore.........problem is, I don't seem to have any choice! My wife Donna is just an absolute sweetheart, but is NOBODY to fool with, and she has told me ADAMENTLY on more than one occasion..........."Don't you EVEN THINK about dying on me!"
I know her. She means it!
