An Open Letter To Senator Corder
(Excuse me folks, but I've got to break into the middle of my own blogsite for this one):
Senator Corder: It would normally be highly unlikely that you would get a letter from ME, of all people, as we do not think along the same lines, and in all likelihood, never will.
But we ARE technically members of the same political party.
I am an old "Reagan Conservative", and have an acute sense of "right & wrong." This upcoming Idaho House Bill 221 is WRONG! While we DO definitely need to make cuts......pulling the rug out from under the DISABLED is a TRAVESTY. Yes, there ARE some rational things in this bill, but THAT isn't one of them.
These aren't "welfare bums" who make the "system" a way of life-------these are people who CANNOT function normally in society, through no fault of their own, many of them since birth.
We don't even cut the ILLEGALS off, and THEY aren't supposed to even BE here in the first place! The disabled and the handicapped are not in their situations.....because they CHOOSE to be.
I had already "assumed" (and I hate to use that word)...that you would be against this attrocity anyway, but in case you aren't, or haven't made up your mind yet, I would publicly urge that you oppose it. I don't mind my tax dollars being used for OUR people who truly need it.
As I said in the beginning, you and I are at opposite ends of the same party, but this FOR SURE, is a case where voting AGAINST "our" GOP would be the right thing to do.
The Republican Party is WRONG here, and I'm not too proud to publicly admit that.
We need to say "NO" to Bill 221 as is stands.........then RE-write it, cutting where we NEED to!
