i48 Film Festival
The i48/2011 Film Festival is at the Flicks in Boise today. It is an annual event for Indie filmmakers to show their stuff. Last friday, each team received an envelope that had their appointed task. It included the genre, a prop, a phrase and a character. The job is to write an original script with those things in it. Then you film it in one day and edit it the next in order to turn it in exactly 48 hours later. It is a grueling schedule but a memorable experience. This year, we got close to 50 entries. Today, all the films will be shown at the Flicks. The Boise Weekly online will show the videos and accept audience votes on their favorite. The one with the most votes will get a $100 prize. So if you can't show your support by attending the films, perhaps you can go to the website and vote for your favorite team's video. Everyone puts their heart and hard-work into this. This is the time to show your support. Sunday, the best of the i48 will be shown at the Egyptian. That will be another opportunity to see some short films. Consult the theatre websites for times. Thanks.
