SHUT IT DOWN
Our President has proposed total spending for the coming year of $3.73 trillion. Of that astronomical sum, he says taxes will raise a little over half; your government will borrow the other $1.6 trillion. If Obama gets his way -- or anything even close to it -- it will mean that our 44th President will have saddled this country with more debt than all 43 presidents who preceded him.
Obama's budget is a proposed spending of $3.73 trillion for next year. He says that half will come from taxpayers and the other will be borrowed. (From China, I bet) If he gets his way, it means that this President will have caused more debt than all previous Presidents COMBINED! He is asking us to let him spend more than $300 billion a month; borrow $120 billion of that so that he can hand out funds to his favorite causes and "Yes-men" Sound like a plan? Nope, this budget is really a joke that they know won't get passed. It is busy work done to distract us.
Here is a big eye-opener to add to that. In order for that amount of money to be raised from taxes alone, there would have to be no inflation, no recession, no new wars, much lower unemployment and...drum roll...a much higher tax collection.
There will be big tax increases, but the "rich" will be paying more. Who defines rich? Well, according to Obama, married making $250,000 and single making $200,000. Well, I don't make anywhere near that. Matter-of-fact, I am considered low-income. Yet, I don't get food stamps, heating assistance, Medicaid, or any other government program. (Just to make that clear)
Mitch McConnell, the ranking Republican in the Senate, referred to the Obama budget as "an unserious document." I personally can't take such an indifferent approach. Nothing that this Administration says, proposes or actually does is unserious. Everything is very serious to everyone and will impact the future of our kids and grandkids. The legacy that we leave will be a disgrace to our founding father's legacy.
So with all of that said, we come to the question of the day from me. How terrible would it be if we just shut the government down for a week or so? Except for essential workers, everyone needs to take time off. Ask for a specific number of experts (non-gov't related) to work together to come up with a temporary drastically cut budget to serve as an emergency until they can propose a serious plan that will gradually get us out of debt to China. We must stand on our own feet again. WE simply must! Shutting e everything down is the only answer. The money that we could save would be tremendous. Just shut it down!
