Kim's Top Five Positive Things
I have done a blog now and again called my Worry List. So I decided today I would flip that. Here is a list of the top things today that make me smile.
1. House votes to repeal Obamacare. It's a step In the right direction.
2. On Jan. 20, the House approved a measure that directs four committees -- Ways and Means, Energy and Commerce, Education and Workforce and Judiciary -- to work on healthcare laws that reflect the GOP's agenda. It didn't take long for Republicans to introduce two bills that would eliminate taxpayer-funded abortions, the Protect Life Act and No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.
"When the healthcare reform bill was signed into law last year, the administration chose to shut their ears to the will of the American people and move forward with a plan to expand abortion access," said Representative Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), who sponsored the Protect Life Act, quoted by The Hill.
3. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who already have too much power, has finally admitted fluoride danger. It is injected into our water supplies and used to control pests in food storage and processing facilities... but isn't ready to ban the poison completely. Last week, the recommended amount of fluoride levels was dropped. This is a small step in the fight to stop poisoning our children. Yes, fluoride has benefits. I worked in dentistry for over 12 years so I understand this. However, fluoride is a poison to the body in higher levels. Think of this! Fluoride is injected in our water; on our grains and produce when used as a pesticide; put into our toothpaste (which young children swallow) and mouthwashes combined together is a dangerous level. Studies have shown that it will cause problems in our children's teeth and bones. The EPA has known this but covered it up. That is bad enough but consider this. Fluoride also lowers the intelligence quotient in children, according to studies of children in China. Can you believe it? Fluoride could be causing brain damage! According to studies in China, they evaluated more than 500 children in two Chinese villages. One of the villages had higher-than-average fluoride levels while the other had lower-than-average levels. Those in the low fluoride village had IQs 350 percent higher than those in the high fluoride village. (Article by Bob Livingston)
4. Check this out! Cold Fusion may be a real alternative energy. What is Cold Fusion? "Hypothetically (and broadly) speaking, the process involves fusing two smaller atomic nuclei together into a larger nucleus, a process that releases massive amounts of energy. If harnessed, cold fusion could provide cheap and nearly limitless energy with no radioactive byproduct or massive carbon emissions." Two Italian Scientist claim to have finally done it. Their reactor, they claim, fuses atomic nuclei of nickel and hydrogen using about 1,000 watts of electricity which, after a few minutes, is reduced to an input of just 400 watts. They say that commercially scaled, their process could generate eight units of output per unit of input and would cost roughly one penny per kilowatt-hour, drastically cheaper than your average coal plant. 5. And my last smile is for local news. In Mtn Home News: Symposium may lead to pilot program to fight fires here. This symposium could start a 5-yr program to bring firefighters here to help reduce the frequency of fires. This is great for Elmore County as well as the city.
