Local Politics
As we watch the news and see all of the drama unfolding over highly heated campaigns, we tend to lose focus on the local campaigns. I know that I should pay more attention. There are some important races being run right here in Mtn Home. There are some really important decisions that need to be made. As other states decide if they are keeping the people already in seats or will they hire a new person promising bigger and better things, we need to do the same. Most of the people are fed up with all of it! They are so angry and upset over the course of this country, that most will vote almost everyone coming up for re-election out. Not because they agree with the new person completely, but because they would rather take a chance on new blood than worry about the bad blood connections that have been firmly established with the current politicians. At least with the new people, there is a honeymoon period that they are still "gun-ho" for making things better. Maybe some things will be fixed before these new people have been brought over to the normal, corrupt, I-will-scratch-your-back IF you-will-scratch-mine mentality. There is hope with the new. Fear and anger with the old if they are given another chance. I think that there are still some of them who should be re-elected, and some that we all know, need to be replaced. (NO hard-feelings but this is not personal) So I will be focusing on this local campaign so that I may make the best possible decision with the information that I will glean from every source I can find. I challenge all of you locals to do the same. Read, ask, Use Your voice-tell others and VOTE!
