Step Brothers
Personally, I haven't been disappointed with the summer movie season, then I saw "Step Brothers."
In "Step Brothers", Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, back after the huge hit Talladega Nights, play fourty year old men living at home when their parents played by Richard Jenkins and Mary Steenburgen marry and reluctantly Dale (Reilly) and Brennan (Ferrell) become stepbrothers.
From that point, the story becomes absurd with Ferrell and Reilly feuding throughout the movie, till eventually once their parents divorce, they join forces to get their parents back together.
Not to mention, the goofy scenes where they fight a gang of school kids, and the odd ending where Ferrell sings I guess it was opera in Spanish, I don't know I lost interest after the first 30 minutes of the movie.
Ferrell, who hit it big with Anchorman , Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory and has come off a stinker in Semi Pro, hopefully in his next movie he'll redeem himself as a comedy hit maker.
This is definitely my least favorite movie of the summer for 2008.
On my blog is a listing of my choices for the best and worst of summer movies for 2008.
Now check out what my fellow critics, Calvin and Heather Walsh had to say about Stepbrothers.
