Wall-E
Disney and Pixar introduce the world to a new lovable robot, look out Johnny 5, it's Wall-E.
In the movie, dated 700 years into the future where Earth has become an unpopulated and desolate wasteland, Wall-E or Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class was left behind to clean up the planet.
While at work, Wall-E collects various trinkets he finds in the refuse like a rubics cube, a lighter and a spork, befriends a cockroach and constantly views a videotape of the musical Hello Dolly, a tape that teaches Wall-E emotion especially emphasizing the act of holding hands
Wall-E finds a new purpose in life after meeting, EVE (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator) a search robot, who is tasked to find plant life on Earth to help reconilize the planet.
This film clearly has some of the best animation, I've seen in a animated film to date, but I felt that the film banked too highly on the animation and not much on the other aspects of the film.
The movie was unique in the voice over work. To create dialogue, sound engineer and also voice of Wall-E, Ben Burtt took various mechanical sounds, and combined them to resemble dialogue.
The movie was well directed by Andrew Stanton, who last directed another Pixar hit Finding Nemo.
Overall, it was a great movie, I just feel that despite what most critics are claiming that this is the best animated movie of the year, I would disagree and say Kung Fu Panda.
Well you know what I thought of Wall-E, here was some of my fellow critics thought of Wall-E.
Video Critics: 1. Cody Seeley (10 years old); 2. Aspen Blahus (11 years old; 3. Breanna Seeley (12 years old).
