Trauma of a Niners Fan

Yet again, stuck in the middle of another losing season. The 49ers didn't really kick off 2008, with their starting quarterback and #1 draft pick Alex Smith, (who is about as worse as Ryan Leaf if you ask me), gets put on injured reserve and is out for the year.

Who do they turn to, J.T. O'Sullivan, the guy who backed up Jon Kitna with Detroit last year, while Mike Martz was leading the charge (now Martz is the off. coordinator with the Niners).

And what happens, utter chaos, O' Sullivan is involved in quite frankly every turnover, in the offense, until finally thank god in week 10, the Niners finally woke up and benched O' Sullivan for the kid who I felt should have been the starter from the very beginning and that was Shaun Hill.

Hill who came off two impressive performances the previous season, was on the bench for most of O'Sullivan's tenure.

And now, his numbers, granted they have only produced win over the hopeless Rams, are way better than O'Sullivan or Smith, if it would were up to me, the Niners should hang on to Shaun Hill, and trade Alex Smith, for some o-line production.

It just kills me, to see the Niners where they are, with such a talented team, Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, and Patrick Willis have become proven superstars, while the Niners have struggled.

The remainder of the season approaches, they are set to face the AFC East in the next three games, (Buffalo, NY Jets and Miami), SUPER!

Then they close the season against the Rams and the Redskins, I'm just hoping that eventually the Niners get back to form as an NFC contender.

What they need to do is get an experienced head Coach, as much as I like Singletary, he's just not the right guy for the job.

Get someone like a Jim Fassel, Brian Billick, I mean anyone who could fix this sinking ship.

My Prediction for the rest of the year: (3-2) Season Finish: 6-10

The one good thing I could say about this season, at least my team isn't as pathetic as the Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs, Bengals and Lions.
