DVD Round Up (Hulk, Zohan and Love Guru)
Recently I got the chance to view The Incredible Hulk, You Don't Mess With The Zohan and The Love Guru on DVD. Here are my reviews for each movie.
1. (Four Reels) The Incredible Hulk
In this version, Edward Norton plays Bruce Banner, a scientist who is trying to discover a cure for the gamma poisoning he suffered resulting in his turning into the Incredible Hulk. When Banner decides to go into hiding trying to find a cure but is forced out of hiding and ends up fighting the nightmarish beast The Abomination.
I really liked this film, it was a vast improvement from the Ang Lee version that featured Eric Bana as the Incredible Hulk. I loved how all the old Hulk aspects were brought up in the film, from the Lou Ferrigno cameo to the purple stretchy pants.
2. (Two Reels) You Don't Mess With The Zohan
Okay, for me, Adam Sandler had a lot to make up for as far as comedic credibility after the dreadful I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
In Zohan, Adam Sandler plays the Zohan, an Israeli Special Forces officer who decides to fake his own death and come to America pursuing his dream, his dream to be the world's best hair dresser.
Sure, corny, but this was movie was way better than Chuck and Larry. Overall, Sandler as the Zohan was funny, but this just continues the string of bad movies for Sandler.
3. (One Reel) The Love Guru
I don't why I'm even giving this movie one reel, to me the Love Guru is this year's Norbit.
In the Love Guru, Mike Myers plays the Guru Pitka who is hired to fix the marriage of NHL star Darren Roanoke played by Romany Malco and his wife Prudence played by Meagan Goode. Also in the cast, were Verne Troyer, Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake.
Overall, this movie was the absolute worst, I've seen this year, the movie was all nothing but toilet humor. Mike Myers is much better than this. I would say the Love Guru is crap.
As In Come back to Reality Mike Myers and do Another Austin Powers movie.
