The idea behind Robert's Random is for me to write about whatever I'm thinking about whenever I'm thinking it. I try to write 3-5 times a week, but sometimes real work gets in the way of that. Sometimes I'll share whatever random thought I might have that day but most of the time, I like to write about things going on in the news. I'm a total news junkie, I spend a lot of time online at various news sites. If I find a story where someone does something totally stupid or I wonder "what were they thinking?" I don't mind pointing it out incase others missed it or taking my best guess at what they were thinking. I like to laugh, I like to make others laugh. There's so much serious and wrong stuff going on in the news that when I find an unusual or light story, I like to use it. And while real life news events might be the focus of many of my blogs, I'm just trying to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even think about something you didn't know before reading. I'm not trying to break any serious news or deliver any hard-hitting coverage. You'll have to read a paper or watch one of the network shows for that.
Lesbian action should be reserved for late night TV
A lady is upset at the Seattle Mariners because a usher asked her to stop kissing her date at a May 26 game against the Boston Red Sox (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/baseball/mlb/06/05/lesbian.kiss.ap/)
She is claiming it was because her date also happened to be a woman.
The team, of course, is saying that that's not the case, that they have a code of conduct that specifically mentions public displays of affection that are "not appropriate in a public, family setting."
I like lesbian action as much as the next guy, but can it be possible that whoever complained did so because they didn't want to watch people grope each other and make out in public?
I went to a Kenny Chesney concert in Portland Tuesday and about ten feet in front of me, was a drunk, old couple making out like they were 16-year olds in the parking lot at prom.
It was pretty disgusting, but at the same time, you couldn't help but look. It was like a train wreck in that respect.
I wish I would have known I could have asked the usher to tell them to stop. I'm sure everyone around us, especially the lady I watched attempt to climb over the pair on her way to the bathroom, wish we would have thought about asking the usher to tell them to stop.
Holding hands in public is OK and so is sneaking an occasional kiss, but once you're out of the fifth grade, there's no need to see how close to third base you can get with an audience watching.
The worse part about people making out in stadiums and concert venues is, while you're watching people make out, you're NOT watching whatever act or event you paid money to get in to.
It's a good thing Seattle ushers weren't wokring this ChiSox game: http://brentjones.blogspot.com/uploaded_images/whitesox-781888.jpg
Or this baseball game in Japan:

Or were in attendance after a San Antonio Spur game:

Or where ever Tyra Banks was for this shot: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a157/Sayma04/tyrakimorakissing.jpg
Fear not, apparently there is a right way to kiss your girlfriend in public.
