The idea behind Robert's Random is for me to write about whatever I'm thinking about whenever I'm thinking it. I try to write 3-5 times a week, but sometimes real work gets in the way of that. Sometimes I'll share whatever random thought I might have that day but most of the time, I like to write about things going on in the news. I'm a total news junkie, I spend a lot of time online at various news sites. If I find a story where someone does something totally stupid or I wonder "what were they thinking?" I don't mind pointing it out incase others missed it or taking my best guess at what they were thinking. I like to laugh, I like to make others laugh. There's so much serious and wrong stuff going on in the news that when I find an unusual or light story, I like to use it. And while real life news events might be the focus of many of my blogs, I'm just trying to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even think about something you didn't know before reading. I'm not trying to break any serious news or deliver any hard-hitting coverage. You'll have to read a paper or watch one of the network shows for that.
I'm going to wait it out and get it for free.
About two months ago, I noticed a 2000 maroon Yukon for sale down the street from my house while on a run.
It caught my eye because, well, it doesn't take much to get my attention while I'm running down the same street for the 100th time, and because I've always wanted a Yukon.
It was listed at $13,000 which I thought was reasonable (I don't know if it actually is or not, I'm too lazy to research it on my own.)
However, reality soon set in as I remembered I currently owe about that much on my current car and I've decided once I pay it off, I'm not going to buy any new toys for a while.
The thought of buying a vehicle that probably gets about four m.p.g. doesn't sound too great either.
A few weeks ago I noticed the vehicle parked by Paul's with a reduced price: $12,900.
This morning, the same Yukon was parked in front of Paul's marked at $12,500.
If the price continues to drop every few weeks, I'm just going to wait and see how low it goes.
Maybe I can get it for free.
